Local Councils

December 30th, 2007 by Natasha

Councils are requiring more and more information as part of the process for planning approval. The submissions are required to be more detailed, easy to read and professional looking. Gone are the days, when you could sketch up a plan based on some old building plans you got from the real estate agent when you bought the place.

However, you can start the process, if you so desire, by contacting you local council to find out their particular requirements for planning and building approvals - but what to ask?

Click here to find out the ’Seven questions to ask your local council’

Every project has different council requirements - we’d love to hear any interactions you’ve had regarding your surgery fitout and council submissions (good and bad!)…feel free to comment here!

Great post Natasha. Seven questions to ask your local council is a very useful starting point. I think you are right about councils expecting a lot more professionalism these days. We had a positive experience recently with council staff but I know things can be very different. I wonder whether you could get a planning person to tell the story from their side of the fence?
