You may have heard about the amazing (freak) hail storm that hit Perth on Monday. We were in the thick of it! Living in 100 year old leaky weatherboard house (must get around to renovating one of these days!), we had a couple of cracked windows, a few leaks here and there and NO POWER!!! Nearly72 hours later and we feel like we’re living in the dark ages; no lights, no fridge, no dishwasher, no computers, NO TV!!!
My friends from OM4 have kindly let me come to their office to check my email and charge my phone! Check out Glenn’s video of the storm on his blog.
I had a call from one of our client’s, Dr Chai Lim, with the news that the box gutters filled with hail, overflowed and smashed the skylights. The carpet was being replaced – what was it called again…? As our computer server is down, Anthony dug out the archive boxes to double check the specification – did someone say dark ages! We had a vague recollection that the colour had been changed at the last minute. I ended heading over there with a sample just to make sure we had the right one.
But really, it hasn’t been too bad. We’ve withdrawn from the need to jump onto the computer every five seconds or automatically turn on the TV. We’re having good conversations by candlelight and going to bed early. The house has never looked cleaner.
I’m sure it will be all back to ‘normal’ soon!
